EPC FRIDA RFI Explained and Oriel IPO’s Commission-Free SEIS & EIS Alternative

Kickstart to Smarter Funding Choices

The European Payments Council’s launch of the FRIDA RFI central platform in January 2026 grabbed headlines. It aims to centralise fraud information for banks and payments processors across Europe. It sounds powerful, but if you are a founder or an angel investor, it feels distant. FRIDA shines on security, yet it lacks tools for early-stage funding and tax incentives.

Enter a sleek share scheme platform designed for the startup world. Oriel IPO bridges complex SEIS and EIS rules, removes commission charges and gives you a clear route to connect with investors. If you want to see how a true share scheme platform can transform your fundraising journey, check out Revolutionising Investment Opportunities in the UK with our share scheme platform for an immediate deep dive.

1. What Is the FRIDA RFI Central Platform?

The FRIDA RFI (Request For Information) seeks suppliers for a central hub on fraud information sharing. It focuses on:

  • Gathering intelligence on payment fraud patterns.
  • Creating secure messaging channels between banks.
  • Standardising data formats for cross-border insights.

It’s all about reducing risk. Banks can spot trends faster. Regulators can act more swiftly. But it does little for founders hunting for seed capital or investors chasing tax-efficient deals.

1.1 Strengths of FRIDA RFI

FRIDA boasts some solid benefits:

  • A single point of access to fraud reports.
  • Pan-European collaboration that cuts silos.
  • Alignment with PSD2 and GDPR requirements.

Yet, these strengths cater to compliance teams. Fraud monitoring is vital but not the same as sourcing SEIS or EIS deals. FRIDA cannot flag eligible startups or handle share certificates. It’s a fraud-information centre, not a share scheme platform.

1.2 Limitations for Startup Funding

Look at FRIDA through a founder’s lens:

  • No investor matchmaking.
  • No guidance on Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme.
  • No tax relief calculators.
  • No portfolio tracking.

Startups still juggle spreadsheets and manual filings. Angel investors hunt for deals on general platforms, paying success fees up to 7.5 per cent. You lose capital before a single share certificate changes hands.

2. Oriel IPO: A Commission-Free SEIS & EIS Alternative

Oriel IPO steps into that gap. It’s a dedicated share scheme platform for the UK early-stage ecosystem. Commission-free, subscription-based, tax-focused. It pairs founders with investors who understand SEIS and EIS incentives.

2.1 How It Works

  1. Curated Startup Listings
Every deal undergoes vetting for SEIS/EIS compliance. No wasted time on ineligible pitches.

  2. Transparent Subscription Model
No hidden fees, no fundraising commissions. You pay a clear monthly rate.

  3. Educational Resources
Guides, webinars and checklists. They help you navigate share capital, articles of association and tax relief.

  4. Centralised Document Hub
Store share option agreements, investor declarations and compliance documents in one place.

It’s simple, it’s clear, it works.

2.2 Benefits for Entrepreneurs

Founders get:

  • Full control of share issue terms.
  • Direct access to angels who know SEIS/EIS perks.
  • A ready-made compliance framework.
  • No surprises on legal or tax paperwork.

2.3 Benefits for Investors

Angel investors see:

  • A pipeline of tax-efficient deals.
  • Clear SEIS/EIS eligibility markers.
  • Real-time updates on holds, closes and share certificates.
  • No extra cut taken by the platform.

2.4 Support for Accountants and Advisers

Accountants and tax specialists play a vital role in SEIS/EIS deals. Oriel IPO offers:

  • White-label resources to share with clients.
  • Automated eligibility checks.
  • Portfolio reporting tailored for compliance reviews.
  • A collaborative dashboard for adviser-client communication.

If you guide investors or founders on SEIS/EIS, this is your toolkit. Support your investor clients effortlessly

3. The Oriel IPO Hub: Your Digital Command Centre

All features centre on the Oriel IPO Hub. It’s a cloud-based dashboard where you:

  • Track investment rounds.
  • Store due-diligence paperwork.
  • Manage share allocation and certificates.
  • Engage with potential and existing investors.

No more scattered emails or lost documents. Data syncs in real time. Everything is searchable, secure and backed up.

4. FRIDA vs Oriel IPO: A Clear Comparison

Let’s side-by-side the two platforms:

• Goal
– FRIDA RFI: Fraud intelligence sharing.
– Oriel IPO: Early-stage funding and share schemes.

• Audience
– FRIDA RFI: Banks, regulators, payments processors.
– Oriel IPO: Founders, angel investors, accountants.

• Cost Model
– FRIDA RFI: TBD; procurement bids.
– Oriel IPO: Fixed subscription; no fundraising commission.

• Tax Tools
– FRIDA RFI: N/A.
– Oriel IPO: SEIS/EIS calculators; relief checklists.

• Document Management
– FRIDA RFI: Data formats for fraud reports.
– Oriel IPO: Share schemes, investor declarations, compliance docs.

The choice is simple. If fraud data is your focus choose FRIDA. If you need a share scheme platform to raise or deploy SEIS/EIS funds, Oriel IPO wins every time.

5. Getting Started with Oriel IPO

Follow these steps:

  1. Sign up for a free trial.
  2. Complete your profile and SEIS/EIS preferences.
  3. Upload initial documents: business plan, articles of association.
  4. Browse vetted deal flow or list your own round.
  5. Use the Hub to track interest and complete investments.

Early-stage funding has never been this transparent or cost-effective.

6. Why Commission-Free Matters

Traditional platforms skim a slice off every successful round. That can be 5–7.5 per cent of your raise. Oriel IPO flips the script:

  • Startups keep more capital.
  • Investors avoid hidden fees.
  • You know what you pay from day one.

It feels fair. It feels predictable.

7. Bonus Resources

Oriel IPO also provides deep dives into SEIS and EIS:

Conclusion: Choose the Right Share Scheme Platform

FRIDA RFI shines for banking security and fraud intel. It’s not built for issuing shares or guiding investors through SEIS/EIS relief. Oriel IPO, by contrast, is a purpose-built share scheme platform. It removes commissions, simplifies compliance and connects you with the right people.
